just got defected.. *blah blah blah..

what i want to know is:
the copper noted that i need to go to an "Authorised Unregistered Vehicle Inspection Station (AUVIS)", why is it the "unregistered" inspection station? i thought defects are meant to be cleared at an "Authorised Inspection Station".

It mean 'Authorised "Unregistered Vehicle" Inspection Station (AUVIS)'
"Unregistered Vehicle" not "Unregistered Inspection Station"

you need to go to penrith to clear your defects.. go to a normal mechanic tell him what part you got defected he will tell you what parts you need or if you know him he will do it for you.. once it has been done you gotta go to AUVIS (penrith) so they can clear the defects off your car.. all the best dude

U dont necessarily have to go to penrith, like i said anybody that does blue slips is an AUVIS.

the guys at penrith really checks out the defects given..not going to pass unless everything is put back to factory standard..

If theyre doin thorough inspections there, wouldnt that be a good reason to go somewhere else that is not so strict?

well it says it must be inspected by an AUVIS, but why is it for an "unregister vehicle"? my car is registered currently and for the next 6 months, is copper forseeing that my car will be unregistered indefinitely or was it just a mistake just like they always make?

It just means u have to get checked by someone that is authorised to do "unregistered" vehicle checks,ie blue slip.

An AIS doesnt do the same level of vehicle checking as the AUVIS,thats the only reason u need to go there,it means nothing else.
