if its more of a track car then painting it would be a waste, why not spend on performance and sussy to improve track time.

*Beware shield your eyes as this is a long post and hopefully detailed post*

Ok,

Pretty much anything that came from the 1984-1987 Crx and Civic and Civic Wagonvan (Which DID come in a AWD system) is interchangable (infact you can do a Teg front on a civic without too much hassle)

Mind you the Integra's got Thicker Torsion bars (But the Wagonvan ones are thicker) and they got slightly higher spring rated springs.

So in short If you find some shocks for a civic its likely it should fit fine in your teg (just remember you have no front springs and thats what the torsion bars are for)

Here is what you should do to your teg (imho) to get it track ready (well this coming from a 86 civic drivers point of view and pretty close to what i would be doing)

For the FRONT SUSPENSION

You MUST to upgrade your torsion bars so you can squeeze everything out of your teg

so perhaps 24mm for street (if its not 100% dedicated to track)

and If tracking 100% 27mm no questions (you can use 27mm Torsion bars BUT i have read they are very rough for Daily cars...i read something about kidney bashing :p)

To put it simply if you do not upgrade the torsion bars its like Putting Rear coilovers on a EF hatchback and not putting a pair on the front...

In short its silly (because who only puts 1 set of coilovers on when you can buy a full set) and one of the best and inexpensive mods for a car like ours

For a Ultimate (as of recent)

A Tien Damper kit as this will take away the need for Coilovers as they are nice and stiff and adjustable (You can have the spring rates made stiffer from tien it just costs a little extra and a little longer wait but well worth it if you are serious)

Shock and Coilover Combo

Find Yourself a set of Koni reds (Rare but well worth the wait and pain to find them) or Tokico 5 way adjustables (About 350-450USD+delivery) or Tokico Illumnias (not too sure of price (Koni>Tokico)

and some decent Rear coilovers (Monkey Teks work the best) or if you dont have the $$$$ buy a set of stock DC5R teg springs for the rear (not sure if lowered springs work or not) they fit in the crx and civic so they should fit in the Teg (they will raise the back a little but i have read they feel like coilovers when installed)

Lowering

If you plan to lower an Adjustable Panhard bar is A MUST to get your rear axle central again (I would Advise buying one anyway)

You cant buy them anymore (too my knowledge) as they are nolonger in production...

But what cant be bought can always be built (see below and please go through the absolutely detailed build thread)

Some adjustable Camber plates would be nice....

You will need them custom made here (there not currently in production by a company) or an american guy who is making his last order now (Refer to below with all the links)

Strip intereor and all other weight constrictions would be advised though not necessary (If you go this path id be happy to buy your Power windows...if you have them)

ENGINE!

Engine wise the Stock 'Zc' you have should be fine for now untill your suspension settings are 100% to your liking and you can nolonger squeeze anything out (time wise)

If you want to squeeze more out of your car with a full Headers back exhaust Pace setter has a decent set of headers as do a few more companies (i will find links later)

A straight pipe would be advised if its going to be track only (as it will be WAY too LOUD for street)

If you are going to swap out (and not turbo) then Imho a B16 or B18 or B20 would be advised

B18 would be better for track though B20 would be ultimate for drag

A guy in the states is running a B20 (using B16 bottom end) and had hood clearance issues. I dont know how it would go in a teg though

(as above Headers back is advised for a bit more squeezing without resorting to turbo)

Wheels!

Well

IMHO you can run up to 15's without it affecting the car all too much (though i would more suggest sticking with 13 or 14)

13x7/13x8 seem to run fine in civic/crx/integra's so i would advise running that (though whatever you can find go for)

Panasport makes a good rim (ALOT of Auto Cross guys in the states run these)

Though this is your car so go for your life

Bars and Bling

There are bars available for the 1st gen teg (just cant find links right now)

But in short a full roll cage would be advised (as with any car)

(Adjustable Panhard bar aswell as one of the best Build Thread I HAVE EVER SEEN!)

This is just the links to the mods that he has done and how they were done but please go through it all as you will learn alot (though this is just for the civic/crx's it would not be all that much different and can give you great idea's on how to do it for the teg)

Enjoy reading through this and if you have anymore questions feel free to contact me :)

I most likely have missed something out so if i have people feel free to add it in or ill add more as i find it/remember wtf i forgot *palm*

Enjoy
