i looked at the honda.com.au website and i dun seem to see honda city on the list. why is this so?

Maybe because they stopped production in the early 1990's/late 1980's???? :o:zip:

In Asia, there is a Honda City sedan. It is sort of a sedan version of the Jazz, but with a nicer interior. The reason they don't sell it here is because Honda Australia thinks that it won't do well here.

ive heard from inside news from honda the city or stream is heading down under at the begining of next year.

aaronng

I'd rather the Stream. But then again, it is just a smaller engined Odyssey.

yeah...back in singapore....its the car used in one of the driving centres. and so i was curious to know abt the price of honda city sedan in OZ. but alas, it's not in production here.

seems like the culture here is small car(jazz and the likes) or v6/v8.

I think the stream will survive better here than City. Just need to look at the Echo Sedan. The Stream will suite the small station wagon owner that wants extra seating for 2 just in case.
I would have got a 2.0l Stream if it was avialable here instead of my Odyssey just for the simple fact that my 3rd row seats are folded down 80% of the time and I'm using it more like a station wagon. And with the money saved I could have gotten a Euro instead of a Jazz.

You can always guess by comparing the 1.8L civic prices between here and Singapore, then multiplying the factor with the price of the City to guess what the price would be over here.

but is it available here in the first place?

No, it is not currently available here. But if you were comparing to Sg's price, you could probably buy an Accord Euro Luxury here for the same amount of money to buy a City in Sg.

icic...actually am not comparing prices between the two countries. just wanna know if its sold here or not. Not really helpful to compare coz if im in OZ. im earning the pay here, different standard of living. no point in comparing really.

but good to know that its not in production. looking far, i would like a new sedan that is affordable for a fresh grad.

Actually, it is cheaper to live in Singapore, compared to Sydney except when it comes to buying cars. Salary-wise, what is the starting pay for a graduate engineer?

im looking at melbourne...sydney hasn't really got me looking...been there before.

Melbourne has a slightly lower cost of living than Sydney if you are not buying houses. What is a business graduate's starting pay in singapore compared to australia?

Honda City in Thailand & Singapore

Since the new Australian City will be made at the same factories as the Jazz & Accords, this is something we should expect.

looks good overall, but just a bit dissapointed with the windscreen washer spray placed on the hood!, make it looks old fashion on the futuristic design.

still beats me why the hell Honda renamed it JAZZ in the first place.. i mean WHO LISTENS TO JAZZ ??? old dudes sitting on their porches in Virginia ?? and Acid JAzz died in the early ninteys hahaha

the car is FIT by name and nature.. it's nimble, a bit sporty, fuel aefficient and versatile.. "Fit" !!!

Light jazz & crooners is nice, stuff like Michael Feinstein, Tony Bennett, Diana Krall to an extent Norah Jones. That's easy listening and light jazz. The more out there jazz is mainly for real musos.. :p

ANYWAY,.. lol getting off topic

I do wish we did get more JDM stuff, I understand the market here in Australia is slightly different, but I hope the City will get a JDM treatment. I don't even think this version is for sale in Japan yet. They only have the older Fit ARIA.

I quite like the grill for this City, it's got the new Mugen feel to it while retaining the :honda: logo.

Apparently, the average age of Jazz buyers in OZ is around 54. People of that generation tend to like Jazz music.

well, not according to the new marketing strategy, they are targeted towards younger females.

anyway, anyone know if the chassis of the new Honda City is sharing with the GE Jazz?

drove the new city the otherday, nice indeed.
now we have a car for the blokes, and the chicks can stick with the jazz!

SPQR
16-12-2008, 08:33 AM
Does it have blokey things like climate control, auto wipers, auto headlights, HID, heated power seats and a 5 litre V8 option?

But seriously, does it have the 50mm longer wheelbase compared to the Jazz?

doesnt have all those good lux items being the car it is and the price it will be.
The boot is bigger than a commodore and camry.

the are aiming the car more at men as mostly women buy the jazz coz of its looks. both good cars in a big market.
its quieter to drive than the jazz and the stereo is just amazing for what it is!
whats that?fully integrated ipod connection standard and USB!

I'm looking forward to trying a City out even though I'm not in the market for a small car. My wife used to have a Jazz and that was a fantastic "Tardis" of a car. When we moved house, I could only fit one 90 litre plastic storage box in my Euro. We could fit eight (yes 8!!!) in the Jazz.

funny u say that, ive moved house twice using the jazz! such a ripper to move stuff in that i couldnt fit in the ute.

haha the jazz and i always get on well when we go to ikea

i got a queen matress, a wardrobe and a bunch of other stuff in her

but the city to be o topic

i would buy one, they look amazing, specially with the modulo kit on it, and if ur really into ur mods, theres plenty of space to upgrade the engine if u so choose also
