try twin loop (twin pass) mufflers they seem to be what your looking for and were originally designed by mugen.
Head to RaceNation for an Xforce one.

"The twin-pass design flows as well as a straight-through but will sound much quieter."

Oh sorry, didn't check what type of car you had, "Car: 12-20psi." lol. In that case If you can get your hands on an A'PEXi World Sport universal muffler, they have a fairly low decibel output. A friend has one on his 180sx

no canons either, lol.
i want like a oval shaped muffler. lol.
so stock lookin. lol.

WSII might be what your looking for. Check the specs and pictures here:

http://www.raceinspired.com/ps-6769-58-apexi-ws2-universal-muffler-turbo.aspx

Its quite 'stock looking', just a muffler to add to your list. Feel bad for the previous useless posts lol. 80mm = ~ 3in though :S

destrukshn
30-05-2008, 08:33 PM
actually that looks quite good, going to paint it black though as well.
lol
for a more stealth look.
any more suggestions anyone?

[ricer]
30-05-2008, 09:14 PM
nooooo dont paint that black!
looks so hot all bling'd up

how about just get a sports muffler... like the $150ish ones from exhaust shops and hide it behind ur bumper???

resonators help as well.

I like fujitsubo's design (they come with 2 resonator)
its one of the most quietest, yet deep sounding exhaust.

JT.. visit carline mufflers.. they have this "S-Flow" muffler that looks stockish oval shape.... sounds like a twinloop

you want the one i got. 2 1/2' quite and hi-flow(its straight thru).

Go see performance exhaust and ask him for the exhaust i got on my car.
Its not cheap but you get what you pay for.

u need to get oval shape mufflers to suit turbo jap cars like skylines etc
they are designed for turbo setups eg trust, hks etc
you will just have to get it custom fitted
it will last longer, flow better ,and sound better imo

destrukshn
31-05-2008, 12:23 PM
yeah, that;'s what i kinda want, but the ones on skylines are ****ing massive. lol.
i know i'm asking for alotfrom a muffler, and i reckonit'd be a mission to find the one i want. lol.

update, finally aye. lol.
went to hi-tech mufflers in darlinghurst.
i told them, i want a hi flow, stock looking, extremely quiet muffler.
they were so conifident i'd be happy with it, they said, if it doesn't meet your criteria after its done, you can have it for free, no charge.
so i went ahead....
and they were right, cruising, next to no sound.
at idle, next to nothing.
there is only a slight exhaust note.
but you wouldn't know it's there really.
more than happy with the results, would recommend them highly.
=)
it consisted of a straight through, rear muffler, made by them.
and also a straight through mid muffler, also made by them.

Xforce Varex

not adr approved and very defectable... the only variable exhaust system thats adr approved is the remus one

JasonGilholme
19-09-2008, 09:03 AM
x2 for x-force varex.

looks stock and will muffle a modified WRX back to quieter then stock. If you're that quiet you won't get pulled over in the first place.

Also if you get a ticket sent home and your going to the pits the varex won't save you

JasonGilholme

the varex comes with a flange and bolts so its easily unbolted and exchanged for OEM axleback if you need to.

:thumbsup:... yep.. with JT and Limbo...

you guys will too if you ever had to go through the shit of noise/emissions test... so not worth not doing it 'right' the first time...

Sexc86: regarding theremus system it does cost an arm and a leg... the muffler is like $500ish... well not much more than a varex but you have the security ADR approval.... can't find any online but theres plenty of brochures in any carline mufflers as they are the official distributor.

Sexc86
19-09-2008, 05:27 PM
imo i think it would be pretty hard to spot a varex being illegal. the motor sits right on top of the muffler between the bottom of the car, and you couldnt really see the flap unless you were looking for it (shineing a torch down the exhaust tip).

i honestly dont under why the **** they are illegal? i cant see it compromising emissions in anyway.

dsp26
19-09-2008, 06:20 PM
^^^probably isn't illegal they just haven't invested in getting them adr approved

Limbo
19-09-2008, 07:38 PM
the varex is variable. EPA/cops don't like it when you can adjust from compliant noise to non-compliant. Its the save thing as coil-overs.

Also the varex is huge, it doesn't fit under some cars, like ek hatches

Limbo
19-09-2008, 07:39 PM
P.S the remus systems are not straight thru systems, the have a unique baffling system.

 it's also the reason those silencers you put in the endpipe are not passable in noise test unless their welded on...

it's not about the easy way out... loud exhausts are ****ing annoying

Sexc86
19-09-2008, 08:09 PM
That reasoning is flawd.

It doesnt matter what you COULD do ... its what you DO do.

ie. My car is capable of 200km/hr. Doesnt mean i do 200km/hr no should i be charged with going 200km/hr.

same principle should apply with the varex or coilovers. If you are meeting the height regulations or sound regulations. They shouldnt be bitching.

ah well, who can ever get any logic from the PO-LICE and their "ass-about" bureaucratic system. NOT ME LOL!
