that is by far the best price I have heard. I reckon that's over $7000 worth of saving.

CRV's sales figure dropped badly in april compare to its glorious days in Jan 2008. Honda Australia must have instructed all dealers to do anything they can to boost the sales figure. Also Honda Australia re-introduced its free 5 yr extended warranty and rego, CTP to CR-V. Dealers can afford to give discount to the customers.

Interesting enough, April is the only month in 2008 so far Honda Australia did't throw in free 5 year extended warranty, Rego and CTP. Coinside with release of new Subaru Forrester, there are only 578 new CR-V sold in April Australia-wide. http://www.autonews.net.au/static/vfacts/2008apr/suv.pdf . Compare to 1575 units sold in Jan 08. It would be interesting to see May08 sales figure which will be released by VFACTS in 3 days.

That's pretty good value - we got a Jan 08 CRV (delivered in Feb 08) with a bit more (DVD player, woodgrain, no tow bar, rear spoiler, front aero bumper) and it was tipping in at almost $50K on novated lease.

I've just purchased a new 07 luxury model for $43530 which includes a dvd player, rear spoiler, matts, type2 roof racks, tinted windows & leather maintenance kit. Is this a good deal? even though it was built in 07? Dealer mentioned there was no difference between 07 & 08 model.

paid 41k for 08 alabaster lux auto. no bodykits. just tint windows, mats and chrome tips. 5 years warranty & roadside
08 seems to have darker metalic interior finishing (like door handles and center console line) than 07 model if you choose black interior.
A bit dissapointing with the car finishing not neat all around at all (body & interior). very dissapointing fact for a Honda product that normally has excellent built quality :(

Anyone has bought new auto CR-V Sport in Sydney recently? Please give me an idea of drive away price and accessories cost if any. Can't decide if I should get Civic sport or CR-V sport, so doing price hunting on both now...... thanks.

Mine black so looks good with the stock blackbumpers. Been a good car in the last year.

I think you might have paid a bit too much there Codes. This is my deal about 6 weeks ago:

new silver, base model, auto CRV, 2008 built, carpet mats, boot liner/protector, Honda rear seat covers, rear bumper boot lip protector, 5 years warranty, drive away for $31k.

Funny thing is, i reckon if i walked back into the same dealer today I could do a little bit better than 31k...

They called me back in yesterday and they couldn't find a car with the interior colour I wanted (black with black interior). So I ended up getting the luxury model for $44k with on road. Got them to throw in front and rear aero bumpers, side steps, tints, carpet mats, rear spoiler, chrome mirror cover and chrome muffler tip.

Mine was bought through Austral Honda, Newstead, Brisbane. They have given me the best purchase price by far on my last two Hondas (jazz and the new CRV).

i don't think so there left any in the country :). I struggled a lot to get one. You can ask dealer to give u the base model and add those four extras which makes sp edition if u know what i mean. I think u can haggle for that
All the best.

06-04-2009, 03:21 PM
yeah, i may have to try to do that. but even trying to find a dealer with a base model is proving difficult, so if i do find one haggling to have the extras put on for a minimal cost may be hard.

Nov 2008. I pad $35,800 for my CRV Sport 2.4 Auto.
Empty, not even carpet mats yet with 5 years warranty and road assist.
As usual AFTER sale I assume I could get a little bit better deal :)

Added mats, tinting and rear parking sensors myself, cost me about $400...

I paid 25K US dollars for my CRV in 2007, leather seating and fully loaded except for the GPS, i wished i had paid the xtra 2.5K for the Nav package.
It is my belief that Honda do have the best factory installed navigation system.

09 grey CRV standard (manual!), weather shields, headlight and bonnet protector, mats, luggage tray and luggage cover, $37,500.

Compared to the drive away prices of the special edition at the start of the year its not that good, but it was impossible to even find a car to test drive.

sorry mate, but i reckon the Honda dealer you bought that off is still laughing. 37500 is way too dear in my opinion.

I did realise it wasn't cheap :( I did shop around at a couple of dealers before settling at that one. Of the 6 I tried only 2 had manuals in stock, both were around the $37k mark for the driveaway price. What do you suggest is a decent price?

It wasn't exactly an impulse buy. I mentioned in another thread I have an aging gen 1 CRV - I had tossed up at the start of the year get rid of it for a new CRV, but it was all sold out back then so I spent the money for a new clutch, tyres and major service to get it back up to scratch. Then just recently our other car had to go, so we jumped into getting a new CRV pretty much within the week.

haha! It feels like I paid a premium to get a manual, rather than the other way around!

this was a better deal. It's an auto back in october 2008. It was a April 2008 built car.

We just picked up our silver manual CR-V with bonus pack (alloys, front and rear sensors and foggies).

Paid 34,000 on the road, including a cargo blind. Only one dealer came to the party with that price. No-one else would touch it. The bonus packs were limited to about 3 per dealer apparently.

Thats nice!

I'm slowly adding accessories now and its just costing more and more (I've added luxury alloys, fogs, rear spoiler, door sills and exhaust garnish). Its just making the car more and more expensive than it already is :(

We probably rushed into the sale and the sales person knew he had it in the bag.

Not saying yours is a bad deal, but the circumstances in 2008 and 2009 were probably a bit different. The first time I went shopping for the CRV there was no stock in any of the Sydney dealers, let alone finding a manual one. The RRP for the manual is $37.5k. I got drive away for $37.5k with a bunch of accessories, not a fantastic deal, but I didn't overpay either. :)
