Hello people.

I recently notice that when I brake there is some kind of vibration which can be felt on the pedal. The car has no problem stopping and I dont have to use much enough to slow the car down and get to a complete stop(feels like it scratching) Also sometimes when I go over pot hole on the road and I am braking at the same time the brake pedal depresses down with the hole.

Anyone have ideals on whats happening to my car (EM1)?

I am about 400kms away from my next service so any idea would be excellent, so I can tell them

thanks in advance :)

its probably the ABS

If it is a pulsating feeling and you are breaking rather hard, then it is probably ABS.

Vibrating or pulsing??

I assume this is not under heavy braking too that it happens......

ABS by the sounds...

um....yeah it is like pulse feeling.

OUCH! ABS? Does that mean I have something wrong with my car?? If something is wrong with the ABS, that could be costly??

I hardly think its ABS cause I am not heavy braking

If you go over some gravel or something under braking - it can v easily cause the ABS to engage..... happens in my ek4.

if its doing it every time you brake then your rotors a warped and need machining/replaceing.
its normal for the ABS to get triggered under light braking over potholes and loose surfaces. I can usualy hear the solenoids in the abs modulator getting triggerd as well.

When i brake firmly whilst driving over small bumps on the road, sometimes it causes my brake pedal to vibrate (ABS kicking in momentarily).

If it's doing that all the time, you're best to get it checked dude.

Yep, same here.

your rotors are warped, i had the same problem, i had them machined and its fine now.

How much does it cost to machine the brake disc?

thanks

cost me $35 per disc. It could be cheaper, they charge a little extra to take them off.

Yes, its probably your rotors, they can sometimes vibrate to whole pedal when they are warped, and you can only really feel it when you are braking very gently from high speed. Either get them machined or get a new set of DBAs
