hey guys, I got quoted $1200 all up for mugen lip kit including paint and fitting
kit includes: Front lip, side skirts, and Back lip

What do you think about the price? reasonable?

If if the original item, then its worth it. The replicas sells for $600-$650 and you still need to get it painted and fitted so $1200 would be the going price me thinks.

Not sure mate. I'm looking at my options regarding the lip kit and the full mugen replica kit. I can get the lip kit for 600 unpainted. Am hoping to be able to get the full kit for about 1.6k painted.

1.2k for just the lips (paint+install) is a bit much tho.. I'd keep looking.

not bad. mugen kit (replica of course - genuine is about $2k+) already around $800 + paint $500-600 (honda dealer - year ago) + shipment kit ($200)

Hi Y'all.

Been negotiating for a lil while now with a seller. I'm offered the full kit (lip kit + spoiler + grille) for 1700 painted + fitted.

Thoughts? The same guy quoted me 2.4k when I first got the car... so price has come down a bit.

I think I'll email him back and accept it... and hopefully get it installed this weekend. It may not be the best price... but I think it's reasonable right?

looks ok, 800 (only body kit), spolier + grille may extra.
let say 1000 all up + 500 paint + 200 fiited = 1700, looks fair value.

not really worth it. as its only a lip kit. not a full bumper replacement. most bodykits are full bumper replacements and they go for around 1700 - 2500 roughly

Its more like $800+ a piece for the real Mugen kits. A trader sell them here so youre looking at $2,400.00 for the front, side and rear lip painted and you still have to fit it or pay someone, so that a few $$$ extra. :( Im leaning towards OEM as I don't really see alot of them around :) Mugen replicas seems to be flooding the market and can be bought off ebay and even Talon sells them.:)

I seriously doubt you can get the original/genuine kit for $1200- even unpainted. My importer could get me factory painted Mugen kit at one stage for under $2k and that was already a very good deal.

Here's what I know. I got the front lip for $426.00 and can get the rear lip for the same price. The side skirts would be around $550 so a original modulo lip can be had for $1,400.00. They all come painted and all from a local Sydney Honda parts dealer so you just fit them yourself. This is partly the reason why I went with the modulo as its pretty much close to what I will be spending if I went with the mugen replica. For now Im just happy with the front lip but knowing myself it won't be long til I get the side and rear lips as well:eek::eek::eek:

Are these replicas or genuine? Will these guys import to Australia? Any notable defects/fitting issues?

Btw to musers, if you scroll down the page, you'll see the Mugen & Modulo kit too.

Renegadeice, yes they do ship to Australia, friend had one imported to Brisbane and as for the $650 i'm sure that price included shipping but you'll have to double check that (he also had his painted in pearlescent).. No, there were no problems fitting at all, and i'm assuming that its a replica considering the prices that other people have been quoting etc. if you like i can show you pics. But even if you contact the guys on that site, they're pretty friendly and helpful.

I paid 1700 for the replica kit (lips + grille+spoiler) all painted (perfect match.. even the pearlescent mixture is spot on) and fitted.

It may seem more than other places... but as i said before the quality amazed me. So I don't regret paying that much.

Paint and fitting was $800.

btw, i don't think you can get genuine mugen lip kit unpainted... I'm pretty sure they come factory painted.

got the reply from the guy at progressive bodykit, he said the offer price he will give me does not include painting and shipping? (actually he didn't want to paint it at all because he's scared that the paint will not match)

I haven't asked yet how much it would all cost, would be nice if the bodykit comes down to less than $650 because I don't want a spoiler

refer to official mugen website (just google it). it's in japanese (u're in the right one when u see the mugen civics flashing across the screen) and u'll notice on the aero parts there's two prices quoted; one for painted and one for unpainted.

I think that's it, the clips on the skirts should lock it firmly in place. Screws and 3m would be a bonus.

The genuine mugen kit usually goes for around 2k+ normally 2.5

I really doubt anything around the 1k mark would be genuine... but if it is... pm me =D

Hi guys,
1st post!...Waiting on delivery for my Red FD2 atm.. and i'm thinking of getting it kitted... I got quoted the following replicas from the Progressive guys:
1)Mugen whole set (PU) (Front & Rear Lips + Side Skirts + Front Grille without mesh) - approx. $410 painted
2)Modulo whole set (PU) (Front & Rear Lips + Side Skirts ) - approx. $370 painted
3)$450 for shipping to Sydney

I think its pretty good pricewise, but has anyone bought from them lately? Is the paint work pretty decent and are they reliable? Also, is the kit easy to fit yourself? I'm a noob, so just clips and tapes? no drilling involved?

Cheers

yeah its a new color.. but had to wait a while for delivery.. gonna be sometime in July.. will know exactly when prob tomorrow. I was thinking of getting the kit shipped before i get the car, so I can get it dealer fitted. ( thinking of trading the mud flaps in and get them to fit my kit instead).

The unpainted kit is only $200 bucks less, so it was quite cheap to get it painted.. but not too sure about the quality though..

They should all come with the kit.

The clips should be like the ones on the factory panels (already on the edges of the panel so you basically clip the panel/skirt back into place)

ABS material.
I ran into some problems as you do when modding cars but nothing a file and sand paper cant fix. For this kit i wouldnt pay some one professionally to do it. It just takes time and patients.
