I put a bottle of injector cleaner in with a tank of bp ultimate before the cruise up the coast this morning and i noticed on the way home it was misfiring a little bit and a few little backfires while reving down. I figure the injector cleaner had some sort of octane booster stuff in it or something so the car is on an equivalent of having too many redbull.
Seeing as i used half a tank today do you think it would be best to fill up with 95/91 octane fuel to water it down a bit?
The ecu didnt pick up the missfires as they were only tiny so they arent a large problem but i'd rather it was running normal.

Cheers

injector cleaner does not increase octane, quite the opposite

it decreases it

keep filling up with 98

i'm sure i've seen one with octane booster in it thats all. I'll have to go past supercheap tomorrow and check if it was the one i grabbed. The only reason i say it's running rich is i had a similar fouling problem a while ago which we found out to be that i somehow had a holden O2 sensor installed instead of a b-series O2 sensor and it was sending whack codes to the ecu.

Just riding it out, would it be better to keep revs up to burn off the carbon deposits?

yeh just fill it up with 98 octane and it should be sweet
