I just noticed that my front windows aren't fully tinted on the sides. They only tinted to where the weather seals are on the door. So on the inside it looks like its fully tinted, but when you look very close on the outside you can see that the tint stops where the seals are. Its like a 1cm gap the runs vertically which is hard to notice because the weather seal is there. Is this normal? Can you guys check yours and let me know.

Where the red line is, is where the black rubber thing is which you can see on the outside.

it just depends on who put your tint on

some ppl are good and cover the glass very well

some are average and leave a gap here and there

and sometimes the whole window just cant be covered without taking the window out

thats not my window, its just a random pic to show you guys where the gap is. Mine is newly tinted, thats why i'm asking if its normal to have the gap there.

the gap is usually so it doesnt peal back

each tint joint will have its own method of tinting and that probably the
way they think is best...

its quick and easy i suppose depending on how much it cost you
i wouldnt be complaining tis a bit taky though, maybe go back and ask?
or call up:honda:

A decent tinter should be able to cut it correct and pump enough water/lubricant to get the film past in seal and running in the window channel, and if not used for 24hrs after tinting and even better a hot day for the excess water to evaporate and you wont have a drama nor need to worry the tint will de-laminate.

Problem is the tinter will say he's done it like that to avoid the possibility of that happening but most wouldnt be happy having a light section along their windows, especially on dark tints.

If your not happy, id ask if he'll re-do them and tuck them in further.

Ive seen tinting job like this many times, it all depends on the tinter how good he is how much experienced they have. You can always tell them that you're not happy and get them to re-tint the window. Your paying for it.

you dont have to put down the window, from the outside look at your driver side front window and on the left hand side of the window where the mold is. Look to see if the window has been full tinted.
