hey guys.

Does anyone know what this part is called (1). Is it linked to the intake manifold (2)? It looks like its touching but not sure if its connected in some way. Or maybe its all the same part?

#1 is the intake manifold, #2 is the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) plate. Just after that, the part with the numbers "60718059" printed on it is the intake runners (or commonly called the intake manifold as well).

are these parts not linked in anyway? Cos theres a grounding cable that connects the 2 together.

is the ground cable aftermarket? it maybe just where they are attached, do you have some problem you are trying to work out? the plate (2) looks like it would be connected in an electrical sense by the bolts that go through it to the mainifold (1)

that cable you see in there is an aftermarket cable. Just want to know what it does. Why the link? Cos its not connected to each other maybe? (1 and 2)

The ground cable is there because the owner decided to put more and thinks that he will get more power or something similar. Stock car won't have a cable linking the two.
