View Full Version : Hello World!
Hi All!
Another n00b on the honda scene - I'm not actually officially a Honda owner yet, just considering buying an old civic off my friend who's just finished uni (and consequently gotten a job, and planning to go on to bigger, better cars :)
Considering it needs some work (new clutch, new rims/tyres, scratches repainted etc) I'm still not sure if its something I should go for. Figured this forum is the place to get answers!
Whether I get it of my friend or not, I do plan to go honda cos I reckon they're the kinda cars to go for when you like modding/rice-ing/etc =)
Took a look through the gallery section, good job! Nice to know there's lots of people here with style ^^

Hi jikw and welcome to Ozhonda
Just curious how old is this civic you own?
Do you have any pictures?
I myself own a old civic (A '86 infact)
Which state you in mate?
He doesn't own the car just yet lloyd :)
IMO when buying a used car get one without imperfections unless your prepared to spend extra bucks on it! Then again it is hard to find a perfect used car.
You don't happen to be involved in any programming courses?
I'm so sick of the phrase 'Hello world' because for some reason all books use this statement as a basic program and my fobby tute keeps repeating it lmao
Hi SHOGUNOVDDRK & rawr! Yep, the car in question is a '93 EG4 - has aftermarket sports suspension & a real 'rice' looking exhaust =) (Most of all is I'm poor, and of the choices I got, the EG4 is one of the better looking ones!)
The tyres are pretty worn, and the rims look shit. When I get some $$$ to spend I'd look at changing them with replicas anyhow. Main thing for me is the clutch, its well worn and needs to be replaced (how much would I be expecting to pay for that? The owner told me it might work out to $800?)
And yep, computer science: printf("Hello World");
Heh IT is such a geek/sausagefest, its depressing and hilarious at the same time =P

You do computer science? haha that's the course I'm trying to get in too
where do you study?
Im at UWS atm doing a computing course. HAHA i know exactly what you mean :P
eg is a great car and the stock look is a great look imo
and the cost will depend on who does the work and what parts you will be using.
oh and what coding language is printf? i do c++ atm
Heya Shogun! nup I'm in VIC unfortunately, but thanks for the offer! btw u need to clear out some of u're pm!
rawr I've actually finished my course at monash university, started working not too long ago =) printf is from C (a generation behind c++) though after having done several languages VB.net is my choice for power and simplicity.
Hahah nice
shop around and learn stuff before you get the car and most importantly take it for a test drive along with a few others to compare. Get someone experienced to take a look at it to see if there's any other problems haha
but yeah good luck with the buy :) hondas are really nice cars and are heaps reliable and can look and go awesome
