i was installing a completely new stereo into my car, did everything...but then i got the head unit!! i cant remove the center console part where the gear know is!!! does anyone know how to do this??? the stupid handbrake is in the way no matter which way i try to do it!!! :mad:
any help will be good!! :o

The centre console is a 2 part compartment.
1. The section where hand-brake is
2. Back section where arm compartment is.

You need to remove the back section first for the front to come out.
back section has 5 screws, 2 near front of seats, 2 near back of seats, 1 inside arm compartment.

Once this is removed, the front section is held together by 2 more screws at front and 2 clips located near the stereo area, where the console joins the dash.

You need to pull down and out to dislodge the clips.

i wish it was that easy proecu!! ive i got the back bit out and unscrewed and out... the the front bit is unscrewed and unclipped but it just wont get past the handbrake!!! i even tried to un-bolt the handbrake but all it did was break the socket set. mr vtec - help would be appreciated!!! :thumbsup:

i dont even think its possible anymore...ive tried for like 3 hours and it WONT come out. this is so frustrating!!
