ICVCI.. same problem on my civic. When i did full turn..stop... then put her into reverse an start moving.. 'clunk' .. I never could find anything wrong with it. Driveshaft seals were good.. everything's nice and lubricated. So beats me. It's not a suspension problem since my suspension is fine. ????????

aaahhhh I know the noise you mean... Does it do it again when you drive off forwards again? if so then yeah its your pads not sitting right.

could be your exhaust/manifold hitting your engine/gearbox?

SIKCVC - nopes definately not the brake pads. I do hear those sounds too, but only after washing the car, letting it sit for a day then drive again. The pads would still be on the disc. But this is after driving a while and like i said earlier, only after i go into reverse after a full stop.

ICVCI - lol I don't have my car anymore too. civic chapter closed on sunday (4 days ago )

weird thing is. It's only occasional. So that's why noone's been able to tell me what's wrong. Must be one of those illusive bugs/hiccups/gremlins which is exclusive to each car.

reverse is the only gear without syncro's i'm pretty sure so instead of jamming it into reverse as soon as you can. wait a second or two with your foot on the clutch and slide it in. I'm positive you won't get it happening again.

um it has nothing to do with my syncros or reverse...but thanks for the input anyway
