V Tech not kicking in

Jst wondering What could be behind the V tec not kicking in, besides engine not being warm.

tried 2 race a rex n it was like i was driving a cxi

Not enough oil
Car not warm
Alot more reasons.

guys the reason is officially this - failed thermostat so not correct temp.
