Courtney & Paterson in Heidelberg.....I also know that Evolution R can install one for you a little bit cheaper. not 100% on the price though.

Should be inclusive of installation. Sorry don't have a pic, its identical to the push start in the S2000's.

how does it work anywayz... do you still need a key after installing it?? or u need a whole new set of some sort of key to start the car?
DC2.R
16-09-2004, 12:14 PM
Yeah its pretty pointless....you still need to put your key in and turn it to accessories and then push the button. So i rarely use it, im to lazy.

there was an article in a hot4's or autosalon magazine a few months ago that shows you how to do it yourself.. was actually really easy - just finding the cable, splicing the button inbetween and thats it
course you had to rip up a nice portion of your dash to get there.. but yeah.. $300? **** that!

16-09-2004, 05:44 PM
Do you have to cut your dash to fit it? How much for the Push Start device by itself?

Speak to Tanghy/JDMyard. They can source a Start button package of some sort, if memory serves me correct.
IMO it's a complete waste of money and practically pointless.
If it operated like a REAL S2K style button then perhaps it would be groovy. :)

joneblaze how does a 'real' s2k button work thats different to dc2.r's?

I was under the impression that upon pressing the "Start" button in an S2K, the vehicle's ignition would turn over, hence "starting" the car.
If a pretend aftermarket button installed in an Integra involved turning the key etc also, then I don't quite see the point...

i saw a s2000 after uni with the hood down and i saw the button..
and im like..
"i wonder if i can just jump in, start, and leave..."

good question. but maybe the button does work on its own, however the imobiliser etc must be disarmed first with the remote???
otherwise yeh, they would be too easy to steal LOL

I agree, it would definatly be connected to some sort of imobiliser..
any car with a decent imobiliser, if u only have the key not the rest of the remote (for the alarm etc) then nothing will happen..
i assume it would be very similar with the s2k button =)
A friend had it in his dc2r, it looked a lil cool but other than that i find it really pointless... if ur gonna turn once, to get it to accesories, then turn it again u lazy kants and save urself 300$ and hassel

I agree....bit of a waste of money even though i have one, but looks cool!!!! In the S2K you still need to put the key in and then press the start button.

the start button works like this
u turn yr key from off to on
then u press the button to start
u do NOT turn yr key to start to start yr car, it will not work
if u stall, instead of turning key, press button
simple as that

The start button thing is a waste of money....
Even in the S2000 u still need to put in the key in the ingnition and turn the key, then push the start button to start....
U guys might as well spend the money on something else with the car...
