2 days ago, i left my car to warm up when first start up of the day.

let it start up for like 10mins, then i came outside to get ready to reverse out and it just turned off. i was like wtf? den i tried restarting it again, and it kept cranking, den after a few tries and accel. at the same time, it started.. den turned off again.. then i started it again, den turned off again. the rev kept getting really low, like under 500 and turning off. i'd reverse a lil bit an i'll turn off. so i kept the rev over 1000 b4 trying to move again. drove around the block to friends house, everytime i stopped, i neutraled and rev just to 1000.. cars auto..

the fuel was low.. so i was guessing that maybe the reason, cause last time, fuel was low, and i was driving for 5mins, and i braked at redlights. and car turned off.. den i refueled. 100m down the road and it ran perfect

so back 2 my story, i refueled with 8000 unleaded and car didn't turn off again n yeah, rev didn't drop nemore (fluctuate constatly either) so yeah..

is it beacuse im running low on fuel, even tho on the fuel meter it was like, 1/8th .. cause i read
"When a modification is done on one of our cars, the program that the ECU was running ends up conflicting with what is now going on in the engine. This can cause problems especially at idle when the engine hangs in the dangerously low RPMs or just stalls out."
but then someone said since my car is carby, there is no ECU. which i think he might mean, ECU has no effect on carby or some shit. but yeah.

"then" not "den"

do that, and it will make it so much easier to read for us english speaking folk :)

you also solved your own prob. dont let it run low on fuel.

the moral of the story is, fill up everytime you get to about 1/4 tank left

fuel gauges arent hardcore accurate

As above

Dont let your fuel to get really really low

Either your fuel gauge is inaccurate, or you should change your fuel filter.

Well, at least if he fixes this problem, the buyer won't have to suffer the same thing. This can happen to any car...

I'd say change the fuel filter. Especially if it hasn't been done in the last 80,000kms.

wat are u doing idling for 10minutes in the morning??????????????????????

there is no friggin point in doing that, its completley useless and bad in a few ways

dont idle for 10minutes in the morning man, no matter wat the temperature...

i thought it was good to warm up your car.

Not for 10 minutes. Wastes petrol and the engine oil doesn't get up to temperature. Only the coolant gets warm.

its completley useless and bad in a few ways

i know it might be useless bu i am just not sure what bad can it do if the car stay idle for 10 min in da morning?

the first reason off the top of my head is that the cat hasnt warmed up, so ur shitting toxic fumes out the back of ur car that are making a poisonous cloud around ur car, toxic to humans and the environment

also, no matter how long u warm up, the engine is not at optimum operating temperature............so it will retard the timing and run extremely rich wasting TONS of fuel

another reason is, u think that by warming up for 10minutes, the car is ready to be thrashed, absolutley not, the gear box is still cold, the oil is still cold, the engine is running rich, sitting there and warming up is rubbish

if its -10 degrees in the morning, u idle for 1min and get going, rev up to 3k and use all of the gears, very gentle shifts, until the temperature needle hits stable point

then u can safely assume that coolant and oil are at optimum temperture, now u can rev a bit more, and continue warming up the clutch and gearbox

ull know wen its ready for strong shifts at high rpm
