Hey guys
just was having a look under my car today..
there seems to be a leak on the oil sump itself..so its not the actual sump that is leaking but something above it...
i couldnt take any pics.. but am going to take it to a mechanic monday to get it checked out..
just wondering if anyone has any ideas what that could be? any common issues with the dc2 in that area?
any help would be appreciated :)
thanks!

above it at the back of the block ?? Chances are its leaking from your oil filter area. The oil filter might of not be tightened fully and under heat and pressure slightly leaks...Do you change it yourself ?

did they change a new oil filter? sometimes they don't lube the seal and it can leak. ALso if you reuse and old one it sometimes leaks

The old seal could have also torn off the oil filter and got stuck to the oil filter mount. So when the mech put the new filter on, there are 2 seals and will leak. Could it also be the main bearing seals?

thanks for your help guys..
after a bit of further investigation.. they think its the seal on the sump gasket.. only a small small leak..
i still had the 4L of oil
any ideas how much it costs to replace?
Cheers

OEM sump Gasket costs about 90
u can buy a gasket set including the sump from coventry for about $140.
well i bought it like that when i had my DA9 a DC2 shoudn't be that much more.
as in labour it should be about 1 hour 2 tops. depends how much your mech charges..
