hello people, i was planning on buying a new clutch kit for my crx. my old clutch is gone.... i can't let the clutch out after 3 grand it just spins.

anyway i have seen many different types of clutch, some are different stage's (1,2,3,4) and some with centrifuge on it, and some with dual something on it. well i don't know anything about them, what these different clutch does, what are the pros and cons with them. and which one would be the best for my crx.

my crx engine is a ZC engine (d16A8) no modes done to it, i just try to keep it clean, put proper fuel and oil in it. so the performs of the engine is not to great but good enough to have a little fun ;). thats all i want the clutch to do for me to handle around 124 hp.

any sprung clutch is fine for street... always good to get one that can handle a bit more power than what your engine puts out

something like this is fine for you....
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/XTR-STAGE-2-RACING-CLUTCH-KIT-90-91-CIVIC-CRX-D15-D16_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33730QQihZ005QQitem Z150253898365

but most will suggest you get a flywheel too since the GB is already out....

From memor shipping is US$140 to Australia for the combined clutch/flywheel... but only like US$80 for clutch or flywheel only

I'll vouch for them and so will others here... I've bought the stage 3 and stage 2 from them...

basically with clutches the higher up you go,the more torque the clutch can handle, but the more annoying the clutch becomes in traffic.heavy,noisy,snappy.

for your application your torque levels wont bother even an oem clutch.best deals at the moment are on ebay america.i can vouch for the f1clutches on there, put one in a b16 a few weeks ago for someone and it performed well and felt oem.
no need for a performance clutch or anything, maybe go the stage 2 one if you wanna feel racey and get that slightly extra clamp for better launch

the stage 2 clutch from xtr is very good bang per buck, but it sucks in cold weather.
before buying a clutch tho, think about which gears you stay in the most, as cars generally make more torque in lower gears. as an example, my d15b4 makes 200-250nm of torque in fourth gear, but between 400-500nm of torque in first, and i figured this out through the use of dynos and finding out why my clutch would slip big time in first gear.

my old stock ed9 had 21 teeth, so yours should be aswell

I also have a input shaft off one of those gearbox's which helps alot to line up the clutch plate when you put the new one in, only you'd have to pay postage lol
