just wondering what kms you have got on your turbo d-series engines? i have like 151xxx kms and want to go turbo, but im thinking this may be a bit too much? i know it all comes down to compression rates etc, but assuming my engine is in good cond (considering the ex-owner was a pregnant 35 y o ) do you guys think this is a resonable amount of engine mileage?

just boost it, D series motors are cheap to come by, if you blow its easily replaced

yeh and the labour to replace the engine is not cheap

Do a compression and leak-down test. If those pass then your engine should be okay to boost. But also ensure that the engine has had a good history...regular maintenance...good oils and fluids...

If you past those test above u should be fine

with reasonable boost it will last .. and accompanied with good driving manners! ie not hitting rev limit like NUTS ! and remember drive sensibly.

As said, have a compression test done on your motor, if all is well then go for the turbo with all appropriate supporting mods and tune... Don't skip here or your motor is gonna end up in a skip bin before the news setup even has a chance to start bedding in

i turboed mine at 131000km and boosted hard at 11psi for 25k without an issue. My only advice is be prepared to grab a new dizzy if u have breakup issues. Miss-firing is a good way to blow the hg. Other then that, id boost any motor under 250km without a second thought :) Hondas are built stout from factory.

Previous owner could only have been pregnant for 9 months. Just make sure you get a proper ECU & tune it before driving.

ok bad example. the car also came with sheepskin seat and floor covers, and an enya cd stuck in the stock stacker. just a bit more insight for you. im definately thinking greddy kit because im a low-balling student/casual employee. that comes with the piggyback ecu, but would you recommend a standalone item instead?

the GReddy kit its the most reliable, all in one solution u will ever find. cheapness and goodness. Some would say, its the ultimate student accessory that you can install on your own, with ur mates, and not having to worry about vendors/mechanics telling you this isnt good, or that isnt correct. Its a proven way to get into the boost scene on the littlest money.

How much would the greddy kit cost for a d series ?

its getting harder to find these kits.... im on the market atm but a seller who i had been referrd to dosnt seem to be selling it now...

im thinking of getting a rebuild b4 the boost. just so i know for sure everything is right to go from the start.

oh. and my engine has 130*** if that makes u feel any better

i was thinking of a rebuild but i dont think it will be worth the extra $$, running like 5psi on a t28/3 turbo isnt going to be TOO much pressure on your stock motor. im just doing a leakdown test firt to make sure everything is a-ok. then if i have enough money by the end of the year i might look at vitara pistons and/or a new camshaft.

yeah ill maybe start a build thread when i get all the turbo parts together (and more money). lukezen, as long as it has the turbo, the manifold, the emanage, and most of the piping ill be happy haha. ^^ you should totally go for it. 2.2k is nothing for a b-series turbo kit.
