Civic EG Hatch Wont start? Not Power issue.

sounds like an ignition problem, i would suggest checking all ignition cables and the like make sure they're all connected tight and not worn and earthing out, or corroded for that matter... if thats all fine it could be a fuel issue, fuel pump perhaps.

when u turn it on does the fuel prime? like can u hear ur fuel tank turn on? if it crank it doesnt sound like its an ignition problem.. turn it onto the reds *the stage before actually cranking the car* and listen to see if the fuel pump turns on. if not.. ur main relay is dead.

swap the dizzy with a known working one ( off a friend with the same car etc) to confirm this is the issue.

I have had that problem, and after changing the distributor I found I had to replace the main relay located under the dash board. Therefore check that your distributor and relay are up to scratch. This is a common problem with most cars.

could be as simple as a $90 coil, look on ebay us, u can get a brand new distributor with airmail for about $200-$250, but i doubt u will need to change it, seals and coil and check under dash module for dry joints should do it.

yeah us stuff is exactly same so u just have to pick the right model. did u check for spark?

if timing belt is off it can cause this problem

check for spark first mate, i had a problem with mine and it turned out to be the dizzy. The car would crank but it wouldn't turn over and start.
I got the dizzy for $165 shipped form melb to brisbane, so look around before you buy off of ebay

yeah i checked for spark, piss weak, it isnt the timing.

got a question, gonna order off ebay,

now the civic i found out was made in september 91...its an EG, auto, engine code is D15B4 (correct me if im wrong) and its a GL. and i cant find the part no of the distributor

you think its simple enough to order, but guys on ebay told me to get the part no. but i cant locate it, anyone know?


Just message the seller and ask them for the correct distributer for the d15b4.
