hi,
just brought a set of HID's (HB4) BRAND NEW from ebay and installed to my car (JDM dr2r 96 spec) but not working.:thumbdwn: so i thought i got riped off and emailed the guy and asked him why it didn't work, he replyed and tried to convince me saying that some cars can't take the votage of HID and some ECU cant read it coz HID aren't a stock part.
IS THAT TRUE?????????
but he had good customer service and offered me something called a "RELEASE HARNESS" for free which i'm now waiting to recieve and he said it is something to convert and conect the hid's so then it should work...
HAS ANYONE HEARD OF A RELEASE HARNESS????
CAN ANYONE HELP ME OR GIVE ME ADVICE TO MAKE MY HID'S WORK??

many thanks,

the reason why your Hid kit didn't work is probably because the kit didn't have a relay kit. my mate had the same problem, the seller simply sent him a relay kit to match with the HID and it works now.
ASK the seller that. this could be the problem.
i never trust ebay Hid kits

The release harness should be that relay harness.

The release harness acts like a switch. You connect it from your battery to the ballast. Then, you connect the plug from your headlights into the relay that is on the release harness. So what happens is that the HIDs draw power straight from the battery, while relying on the headlight wiring to act as a switch.
