centre console/handbrake case

does anyone know if the centre console(the plastic covers the handbrake) from an em1 fits in a ek?

can someone show how this can be done?

the em1 console has 4 screws. 2 that screw just behind the gearstick, and two which screw adjacent to the little rubbish bin at the back. The 2 at the back screw onto this metal piece which holds the handbrake cable. And this metal piece does not allow the console from an ek1/4 to fit properly...

but can you get the EK1 console to fit on the EM1?

it wont fit man. the ek4 hatch console is a different layout to the sedan. ek4/em1/ej8 share the same console but the ek1 sedan is different. what you could do is get a bit of tin and fabricate a adapter to screw in the spare screws.

i always thought that they were all the same. ie. Handbrake cover from EK1, EK4, EM1, EJ8 all interchangeable...

if this is the case. A console from and EK4 would be a different colour to my EM1, so i'll prob want the console from an EJ8.

ek4 ek1 em1 ej8 are interchangeable, if u want to fit an ek9 console u need to grab the bracket of an ek9 or make one

ek4/em1/ej8 aren't sedans and the interior panels are basically interchangable, until u get the the rear parcel tray

man, i'm confused. please dont talk about ek9s and ek4s because the handbrake cover i want to install is from an ek1 sedan.

ek1 console requires 2 screws (2 at the front)
em1 console has 4 screws (2 at front, 2 at rear). the 2 at rear screw into a metal piece holding the handbrake cables. This metal piece is in the way of installation.

So,
can i remove this without affecting handbrake function?
or do i need to replace it with a similar piece from an ek1?
