Hi guys,

I recently bought a grill for my EK and have been trying to figure out how to install it. I have heard that you need to remove the front bumper to take the existing grill off first. All help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers

hey man

yep thats right you need to remove the whole bumper because the stock grille is actually screwed to the bumper from underneath so those 4 plastic screws you see when you pop your hood aint going to remove the whole grille, although they do help.

ek9 did a post about how to remove resonator and he had some pics up as to how to remove the bumper and where the screws are.. here are the pics again for you...

I'm pretty sure I just ripped mine off...my aftermarket one didn't need to use those lower 4 screws anyways.

thats probably true, but thats why you dont see the aftermarket ones sitting flush with the bar, they always stick out

you can actually remove the grill without removing the front bumper

reach under the bumper or through the lower black grill in the front bumper and reach up and you can feel the screws holding the grill
the rest if the screws and clips can be removed from above
it only takes about 10 minutes

Yeah I needed my mate to help me fit my grille.I had to get my hand up underneath while he pushed on it but now it has shaped to it and it just slots strait in :)

yep the aftermarket grille i got for my car

doest sit fully flush as the orginal grille, cause they dont use the 4 screws underneath,

but my one did have 4 plastic things at the bottom that you can clip onto oringal bumper so that does hold the bottom in quite well and then screw in the 4 plastic screws and it shold fit like a gem.

hint: put the clips in from the bottom up and then whack the scews in, so the clips dont move.

hope all goes well
