depends on which state you're in.
in south australia, exposed air filters are legal so long as there is a bracket that connects the filter to the chassis and is perpendicular to both, to keep it from moving or flying off in the case of an accident.

No it isn't the same. In NSW, exposed pods are illegal. In VIC, exposed pods are legal as long as they are dry pods.

Should be illegal everywhere.
Has something to do with an exposed pod filter being a potential fire hazard.
i think its a crock of sh*t

If you are in Melb, then it should be alright. Not in NSW though.

So... the pod is more likely to catch fire compared to your battery, brake fluid, electrical wiring and plastic clips?

Does anyone know what the deal is for WA? Do they differentiate between CAI or SRI?

I think CAI is legal in any state as it is not exposed. I'm probably wrong though.

In NSW it depends on the cop. I know of 1 who got defected for CAI eventhough the pod was not "exposed" in the engine bay. You can get defected for anything...
