my mate has an eg si
and it will just roll everywhere..
every gear he puts it in its like its in neutral?
so we had to roll home. we tried turning the car off and back on.
is it something wrong with his gearbox?
we checked his transmission fluid but cant tell if its running low?
should this fix the problem or is it possibly his gearbox just died?
its done about 170xxx kms

if you're lucky it's the clutch that's gone and not engaging, just revs, If you're unlucky it's the box that's died Both could be the reason can't say 100% so don't shoot me if it's something else
what do you mean "its just like neutral"
as in the shifter stick wobbles like neutral? or when you accelerate, the car does not move ?
your car is not a computer.. turning it off and on wont fix anything

sounds like your auto gearbox has major slippage,or the torque convertor is having problems....or if your lucky the gearbox fluid is just too low to get drive.
put the car in park, with the engine running pull the dipstick out of the gearbox and check the fluid level.hopefully it is low,in that case, fill it with some dexron 3 grade auto fluid to the full level (be weary that the fluid level changes when it is hot or cold,it expands when it gets hot, normally there is a hot and cold level on the dipstick,if not, check it when its hot)
if the fluid is ok,then it sounds like your gearbox is pretty much stuffed

might be time to try and source a replacement.take it to a mechanic, theres no quick fix for this one sadly
