Got up relatively early today (quite cold) and jumped in the car. I let it warm up like i always do until the needle moves. I started taking off and i noticed my engagement point was a lot closer to the floor than normal which was weird. So i pumped it a few times all the way up and down and after a few minutes of driving the engagement point seemed to move back to normal.

Anyone got an idea of whats happening there? Maybe fluid needs replacing or an air bubble got in somehow?

flush the fluid first i guess, if problems persist look for leaks and change the MC if you have to(cylinder could be leaking internally)

yeh as vinny said flush fluid, might be moisture/air in it.

if problem still exists check for leaks around your clutch pedal (MC needs to be fixed)

check slave as well not sure how to do this if someone could explain further.

Ok i checked the reservoir and it was empty.... Going to fill it up, bleed out the air and check for leaks now.

What confuses me though is how the balance point moves almost back to normal after the car is warm. Would this be the air in the lines warming up, expanding and creating more pressure or something? I did note that the bite point stayed pretty much an inch off the floor the whole time. Just the balance point moved out a bit.

Just got a mate to help me bleed the air out (who coincidentally is a hydrolics engineer). The master cylinder is stuffed. I could see where the fluid had come out the end so i'll have to get that replaced on monday.

The thing i did notice though was even though the clutch feels much much firmer with only minimal give at the start (feels like it used to), the bite point is still a little lower than what it used to be. Anyone got any ideas on how to fix that? We're pretty certain we got out all the air too.
