What do places like Honda ask for a kit roughly?

That looks pretty good gbang, I think timing belts from Honda Australia are around $80. and genuine water pump around $300, so if they are genuine would be pretty good value.

okay, so i found out the belt tensioner and belt is OEM but the water pump isn't. Does the water pump need to be OEM? coz its made by the same company that makes the OEM for honda, just doesn't have to Honda label on it. (Thats what he told me)

that doesn't make sense coz OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer.... which means a manufacturer that makes equipment for Honda as a stock/factory item...

same manufacturer of the OEM product. just not labelled as OEM but under their own brand. Does the brand of water pump matter?

i don't think your understanding what oem means.. read what i wrote again... it means that company that makes that product is THE "oem"
but to keep the answer simple that "same manufacturer of the oem product" is fine...

alot of things are that come stock as genuine parts on the car (OEM) are not actually made by honda.for example bosch etc. are used as genuine parts in hundreds of cars around the world.
so it is very possible that the water pump could be made by the same company and even be the same product, just not with a honda label on it

yeah but thats what i'm getting at... For example BOSCH, BOSCH can be an Original Equipment Manufacturer for Honda/Toyota/Mitsu/Nissan... because none of them make say timing belts in house which means they outsource it to an "OEM"...

that looks like the one my mechanic used.
i got charged rediculous price for my 100,000kms service
cause i requested all genuine honda parts.
he showed me everything before he put it in...
its good to go OEM.
yeah yeah that looks fine
