Hey people, i have a vision 318-1800 car alarm/immob. everything seems to be working fine. ie. car arms/disarms, panic feature works, immob works. only problem is, when the alrms is armed and i use the key to open the doors, the siren doesnt sound.
*the siren does work when using the panic feature and yes, the interior light comes on when the door opens.
any help would be appreciated. thanks
I had that problem a while ago, i dont think any places will do a repair.
i just ended up getting a new alarm.

does the siren chirp when u lock and unlock the car?
is the car still immobilized when u open the door and try to start it without disarming it?
maybe you just need a new siren?
then again new alarms arnt that expensive these days so probably better just getting a new one fitted

Theres usually an option for this feature, set by a jumper or dip switch on the main panel,or did it just stop working by itself one day?
Id prefer to have it turned off anyway

CRXer - it just stopped, didnt touch anything.
Ricer - the siren does chirp, and yes the immob still works, ie i cant start the car when it is armed. I am just concerned that there's no alarm to deter theives once they've broken into the car and opened the doors or boot, even the bonnet.
Did it ever sound when you opened the door? Are there ultra sonics inside?
If so there not sensitive enough,if theres none and its never worked somebody didnt connect the - door trigger input when installing the alarm,if you want to diy you can find the wire to the rear of the fusebox, its green/red and will be coming down from the drivers A pillar

yeah it used to work. i remember always getting caught out by it when i opened the boot with the key to put my training gear in when the car was armed. there isnt ultra sonics. i spoke to an installer, of course he said it was beyond fixing and to install a new system. told me it was the control unit, but this was over the phone, he didnt actually look at it.
