ac compressor!

:( my ac compressors pullys bearing is screwed and its causing the bearing to vibrate and loosening alternator and causing the adjustment bolt to snap.


does anyone know if i can by pass the ac compressor with a shorter belt til i can afford to get a whole new compressor, or if a recondition of the compressor would fix the problem..

you probably can bypass the AC with a shorther belt as the altenator makes the adjustment for the belt.

best to get the compresssor rebuilt or get 2nd hand one.

Had a similar problem with a 3rd gen years ago, removed the compressor, added a shorter belt and there were no problems, well other than on really hot days when you wished you had replaced it.

Was the original compressor made by Matsushita?
When you can afford another compressor, because of a common fault with that brand, you may wish to switch.
I believe you can get better.
