Sup kids.

Just tweaking my system, having no luck!

It still sounds awfully flat..

I tried tweaking the mids, lows and highs aswell as fading the sound more upfront, but it still sounds flat as all hell.

I'm running Cadence 125 watt 4 inchers up front off the headdeck, and Pioneer 6x9s of a 100Wx2 amp..

recon I should tweak the frequency level on my amp to higher, and fade the speakers back to normal?

Any ideas?

Or should i just set it like this

*Tweak freq fader on amp to around 3/4"

*Tweak head unit to

-2 low

+2 ish mid

+ 4 ish high

ALSO, is anyone else using the later series sony head decks, cos i would love to see your EQ settings! cheers

only 4 inchers up front ey.. theyre not gonna play down low too well so you're gonna miss out on a big chunk of mid-bass up-front. personally id sell all the speakers and invest in a decent pair of 6" or bigger splits, and some sound deadening.

then id get a sub.

then id GENERALLY set the x-overs at: 80hz and below for the sub, 80-2k to the mid-range speakers, 2k & up to the tweeters. fade everything forward too.

tuning gets alot more complicated then your 3way graphic equaliser, trust me lol

just tune it to what sounds best to you, no1 can tune your system over the net..

I'm a musician, and flat means no middle / weight behind it.

hard to explain, i patched it up as good as I could for now.

Cheers

in car audio flat means no majors peaks or dips across the frequency spectrum. you dont want peaks or dips or else you'd be listening to something unnatural and not how the music was intended to sound.

your 4inchers wont play the lower half of the octave well and your 6x9s would struggle with the lower bass notes so you're missing out on a lot of music already..

anyway you've got 4inch coax's running off the head unit.. no wonder it sounds dull up-front.

i dont think tuning can help you much here, you've reached the limit of your gear

splits and deadened doors i tells ya!
