I remember reading a while back that b16a intake springs are the same as dc2r (teg type r) exhaust springs? Is this both the inner and outter?
and how about the first gen b16a1's are their intake springs the same as the dc2r exhaust?

No. The B18C VTIR intake valve springs=ITR exhaust valve springs.

no type r springs are double while b16a ones are single

just looked at the EURO EPC.. at the EE8 CRX Vt (euro gen2 crx with b16a1.. same as JDM EF8)..
http://i28.tinypic.com/2q0jzwl.jpg

Civic Type-R And Integra Type-R
Int-243 dur. / 11.5mm lift
Exh-235 dur. / 10.5mm lift

where as the lift for the b16a1 is believed to be 10.6mm
hence i heard the trick was to just chuck the intake springs onto the exhaust for dc2r cams..

but everyone thinks b16a dont have dual intakes? EPC says otherwise
maybe i should ignore this thread

i just found this from a prostreetonline forum post

Here is what you can do if you already have a B16A or GSR. It has been tried and tested, and yes it does work with very few failures reported over the years.

The ITR Exhaust (blue) valvesprings are the equivelant to the B16A INTAKE springs, and are IDENTICAL to the GSR INTAKE springs. This is all according to Acura/Honda part #'s which do not lie.

So what does this all mean, if I have a B16A/GSR and am putting in cams?

You will tranfser your B16A/GSR Intake springs (both inner and outer, 16 total) to the exhaust side of the head. Now you must purchase the ITR Intake springs (both inner and outer, 16 in total) and place them on the intake side of the head. You will keep your stock B16A/GSR retainers and they will fit just fine.

now i have heard about this for years.. but when searching recently, there was no real info available.. (hence the creation of this thread)

basically
will pull the valve cover off later today
check for myself if there are 2 springs for the intake.. if so i will go about getting some ITR intake springs (no one seems to have used ones which seems a little odd)

^just take your rocker cover off and have a look? and let me know :D

***EDIT***

i see no pics

i might just bite the bullet and whack the intakes on my exhaust and run some new dc2r intake springs

stock b16a2's i know are definately duel valve springs on the intake side but not exhaust side.. b18c7 are dual on both i hope i helped.

now i would like to know since on both the intake valave springs are double... is there any difference between them.. ie: is the type r intake dual valve springs stronger then the b16a2 intake dual valve springs or are there no difference.

Yes they are different. Yes they are stronger. They prevent valve-float. The secondary lobes on the ITR cams run a higher lift (valves open wider)& longer duration (valves open longer) compared to the B16A cams.
