What parts do i have to buy to build a H22A civic? I know mounts and the lot but my buddy was telling me the bell housing will not just fit in. now im thinking of building a hybrid B20VTEC motor. Any idea which is better? I'd like to know more about having a H22A into a civic though. Thx.

you gonna do it youself? im a bit biased i love the b20. if you wanna do a straight b20. ie without resleeving then that is gonna be pretty cheap. h22 motor are easy do come by and it a straight forward swap. ive help do 3 of them.

ive heard that you cant keep air con and power steering unless you spend big bucks
and you need integra ls drive shafts (for the h22a this is)
also it is said that you would have uncontrolable understeer
but this is just what ive heard and read up

Thanx for that Mr. Focus :D I live across the ditch from you guys. I have driven a H22A DB8 integra and it was faster than an Integra Type R. I loved it. Like i said again, i'd love to have the H22A into the civic but B20VTEC is my second option. I also realised that the torque on the H series engine is higher and the light weight civic should be very quick with it. I'm only gonna be using this car for drags and daily driving. No hard track driving or anything like that. :)

the h22a will only give u a lil more performance then a b18c. Just make some room for a nice big t4, and u'll be happy.

Thanks Weq. I might take turbo into consideration :D

i knew a guy who had a twin turbo H22A eg civic... he says that you would hafto sacrifice power steering and air con to make it fit straight in... but then again, he did put 2 turbo's.. :D he got fastest civic in QLD..

would that thing even get traction?

if its not really for track etc.. go for H22A as its more straight forward than B20 hybrid. to make it worth doing a b20 vtec you''l want to do internal work to bump up the compression as it will be a bit low to start with, as well as some other more expensive stuff. H22A will def be more value for money

one problem with the h22a into the civic it is a tight fit, plus if you want all your excessories ie air con, power etc sometimes the body of the engine bay has to be cut out to make it fit.
Also the h22 makes the civic very nose heavy so handelling will not be as good, so you would need new springs and shockies

prolly best go a b18c5, better compression, a little less power, but better power to weight to the h22a, also is an easier fit into the civic with less modding and winging
