just curious, why do u need to change it? if it was like mine where it was all peeling and had metal showing, just sand it off and spray it matt black. can buy the paint from any auto shop for like $10...

that part on my 5th gen prelude is flaking off as well.
i have no idea how to take it off.
do you guys think it would be okay to mask the car paint, the window and then just sand and spray paint while the strip is still on the door?

probably not a good idea.. iirc you just force it off and hope you don't break any clips
done it to my ek before, was flaking so i got some bog and slapped it on, sanded down smooth with the old rubber and wrapped it in tape and clipped it back in
been through much crap and its been a year already, so far so good :)

hmmm
what could go wrong?
i was just thinking of carefully masking the top and bottom edges of that strip off with lots of newspaper so theres no way the spray paint can get onto the window/car paint.

Yeah you can.I did it for a workmate before.
Try to get all the black coating off and rub back/etch the chrome or the paint wont hold.
Satin black looks good.

spray paint particles travel with wind, much farther than you may think
you probably could but i wouldn't risk it personally

Yeah they do.
If you have strong sunlight beaming you can see it in the air floating.
Well it can be done but at your own risk :)
