I'm trying to figure out what HID's im gonna get for my 08 vti and i've been seeing a lot of people with 6000k hids. I'm just wondering how how high you can go without getting into any serious trouble.

Thanks

Higher the K doesn't mean it's brighter. Different K or Kelvin is just different heat or colour..

Go for 8000K.. 10000K I think is too blueish :)

12,000K hids would be purplish. 10,000k are blue. 8,000K are blue with specs of white. 6,000 are a cool white with a slight tinge of blue. If you want it to be blue then go with 8,000K. 6,000K looks pretty much OEM. As a good comparison, the accord euro factory hids are similar to the 8,000K aftermarket HIDs. 10,000K hids are definitely bluer than the euro's factory hids.

i've got 8k they have a slight blue depending on the angle your looking at.
Been to breath tests and no issues as yet.
GF has 8k HIDS also

I've seen the 10k, it too blue and bloody obvious

The higher in k you go the less visibility you will get, have you noticed it at all limbo with 8k in the rain?

6k is the legal threshold. anything above 6k is not legal. 6k are still practical on the road giving you brighter sight.

anything above 6.5k will give you blue to purple look. To which extent with the police i am not sure. I seen car with 10k light and yet the police dont care. But be prepare should anything goes wrong. Breath test normally they dont care much unless serious offence such as no rego or worn out tires.

In the rain 8k and above are useless.

6k is the legal threshold. anything above 6k is not legal.

unless ur car came with factory OEM HID equipped lights....

they

are

illegal

period

in saying that sure the police don't really care if ur running 6K because they are sensible.

this is regarding HID kits PnP

if u go thru the trouble of retrofitting then thats a different story = a WAY better look so its win win

I'm sure that the average copper has no idea what a HID kit is.
and if there is any problems just say a few big mechanical words and the office will hopefully not call your bluff and let you go...

proof is when I asked dad what hed think of me getting a HID kit. he thought it was a type of turbo so lol at police.. (dad is a cop)

6000k is about the limit, 4000 you still get abit of yelowish colour like the standard accord euro hid. 8000 is blue and will blind people. 400 will be white and bluish

Bear in mind that the higher in "k" the shorter the range of your lights will be, although they will be stronger at close ranges. If u want visibility then keep the OEM but for looks choose whichever u want

you guys realize regardless of whatever K you get, you'll blind them just as much. Its just with a diff color, light spread is exactly the same
