hey everyone,

Just wondering if anyone has had this problem when pressing the unlock button on their integra dc2 vtir.

problem: Drivers door doesn't unlock (passenger door unlocks)

at the moment i have to use my key (full turn and hold while i pull handle). Also i should mention that it wont let me manually unlock the lock when im sitting in the car (stuck as locked). Although you can hear it locking itself right after i use key.

The same thing happened to my friends type r just recently, maybe just a coincidence.

Im guessing its the unlock motor (excuse terminology)?

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance =]

i had the same problem on my da9 but the way i fixed it i took off the door panel and looked at the locking arm and mine was loose so i had to tighten the screw so the locking arm can turn the right way so that the door locks..it could be that the connector that connects both the metal arms are loose on a free day try open the door panel and have a look

Sounds like the central locking actuators are playing up, happens to mine when it gets cold/rains. Best thing to do it get someone, that knows their stuff, to open up the door and have it checked out.

Happened to mine, replace the actuator. Costs like 20 bucks or get it replaced by a pro for like 60 bucks.

thanks for the info guys!!

I'll check it out this weekend. Do you know a good place where to buy an actuator? Honda? or should most mechanical stores have them.

They're actually alot cheaper than I first thought, check out Jaycar/Autobarn/Super Cheap Auto. You can get Slave and Master door lock actuators from Jaycar for $20 :D

You'll find that sometimes is the actuator gets cold or a little wet it becomes difficult to lock (you hear it click but not actually lock, unlocking is usually fine). After it's been dry or the weather gets a bit better it fixes itself in most cases, only to return again when it gets wet/cold.

lol kev. I'll give that a try haha!

in response to you Geeang. Its odd because my driver side is always lock and wont unlock (unless forced with key). oh well, ill check it out on the weekend. thanks

Yeah the common problem with dc2 vtir is the actuators get weak when cold/wet, but in your case it sounds like your actuator is actually dying.

Probably best to get it replaced altogether.
