Hi

gf lude 98 vtir auto

battery eventually died
so replaced it with a bosch one. first time started a ok.

later on in the arvo, put the key in, crankd it once, nothing second and third time good.

now have to atttempt to turn it few times to get it to start up

what are some possibilities?

I installed it, i noticed some green layerd paint on the terminals before i took out the old one. should i clean all that off and piece it all together?

any suggestions?

does it crank on the other times ? or nope ?

could be a few things

1. distributor (starter motor)
2. Alternator not charging battery causing batt to go flat

well thats all i can think of

well it cant be flat.
eventually it will start

its jus wont start (not crank) the first few tries, then it will start perfectly

thats happens to my gf's ek1 at times...

i've always thought it was the immob unit since its been replaced before.

or it was playing up

well get the alternator and starter motor checked by someone, and see if thats the problem. the normal charge should be at 13-15 v, any lower well, the car wont start due to either those 2 faults
also check if theres corrosion or wear on the battery lead cables
