CRX11Z new turbo,ported head and cams!

Since running the 9.93@147mph, i have changed to a larger turbo,larger wastegate, better design exhaust manifold,larger cams and a ported head,initial signs are good as its got a heep less back pressure in the exhaust manifold and seems to be making more power at alot less boost.
I had it on the dyno a few weeks back and it was a total waist of time, anything over 25psi and 7000rpm it spun the tires very badly on the dyno. had 3 guys sitting on the front end trying to get it to stop spinning, but everytime it hit 7000rpm it would blaze the tires and hit the 10.700rpm rev cut.
I also noticed in the logs the 920cc injectors are maxed out, so this will be adressed shortly.

Previously it made 537whp on 34psi... i rekon it will be up around 600 on the same boost once tuned/sorted.

I will log it and tune it at the track next time out,once tuned im confident we will be running back in the 9z.

Ohhh and had a photo shoot for zoom mag and dragsport(usa) mag the other week.

nice lexan work! hows the oil drain sit for the turbo as im getting a similar manifold which there known to sit the turbo low having drain issues/limited amount of play for the drain line into the pan?

no problem with the oil drain, i fabricated the manifold- made sure it would work well. there is about 6 inches from the oil drain from the turbo to the inlet fitting in the sump.

i got jack of braking shafts/joints at every event in the early days, so i got a set of pro-drive axles,joints,hubs, intermediate shaft and spool.
very expensive but worth it!

was out testing at a private track day on saturday, had boost controller issues in the morning... kept hitting boost cut, so i had to keep of the throttle... ran 11.1@83mph, 11.6@97mph,12.2@63mph...
finally got the boost controller issues sorted and ran my best 60 footers-
1.59,1.57 and a 1.53.
last run of the day was 10.60@124mph- with a 118.84mph half track, put it in 4th and it had a bad missfire so i lifted... later found a plug leed had popped off! :thumbdwn:

i am confident if we run the same 60ft and half track times next time out it will run 9.70s, see how things go.

Just got back from WSID bracket attack 2day, fixed the miss fire from last time, and of the trailer ran 11.2@133mph on 18psi boost and shifting like a girl!
turned the boost up to 28psi and ran 10.21@139 ( way to much boost in second-just blazed the tires and when i picked 3rd it bogged)
on the 3rd pass i pulled a bit of boost out of 2nd and ran 10.13@141mph....
at the 1000ft mark the pasenger lexen window blew out of the car! lol so i kinda shit myself when this happend and coasted in 4th.

next on the list is to fix the window ( properly this time lol), maybe put some fresh slix on as these expired like 3 meetings ago lol.

back in the 9z soon

i finally got a chance to fix the window and give it a clean, been bizi over the last few months- it just sat in the garage....
gave it a nice clean and put some fresh fuel in it.... i fired it up and took it for a 3rd gear power skid! lol half the suburb come out! lol....
15 mins later so did the cops ;p
the cops were ok about it, i didnt lie i told em the truth and they let me off! wooohooo.
cops are tops!
