hey guys,
looking into slapping a K20 into my dc2...

just wondering what parts i need etc.. (apart from the obvious ofcoure. motor, mounts, shifter kit, ecu, headers)

just wondering how much should i budget. with install etc..

also wondering about clearance issues. i know these go pretty well into Aus dc2r but how about jdm front ones? (if BADHBT has any information?)

cheers guys!

How low do you wanna lowered this car ?
Oil sump clearance to the ground can be an issue
Mine is 8cm from oil sump to the ground.

Funny question? I think JDM fronts are faster

As long as the car aint dumped then oil sump can live. There alloy sumps, only takes a few bangs before it cracks then bye bye engine.

wat i meant was by having a diff radiator support does this affect clearance of radiator or intake manifold etc..

i was considering this at one stage for my dc2 and was quoted roughly 15k drive away by most places...something to think about

if you supply everything it can go down to around 12k drive in drive out. 15k is too much

on dc2 k20a fits very good
even k24a fits nicely with no clearance issue

after you supply everything you are still around the 15k mark so either way its pretty much the same

wat would differ between a tightarse set up and a good qual set up?

header you use, if you going to run a fuel kit (SS lines, Fuel rail, FPR), Upgrade Clutch, Proper Intake and filter, Kpro + tune... and etc

most likely get some custom one done up @ liverpool exhaust, clutch - Orc, and ill fabricate an intake myself. already have kpro aswell.

with regard to wiring up 2 a vtir, would i have to rewire the whole lot or just get an adaptor from the original plugs to the kpro?

much appreciated! thanks man, another Q with the jdm teg radiator support, is there much difference in regards to more/ less room clearance between intake manifold and radiator etc? does anything need to be custom fabricated to fit?

there are many companies that make the conversion, like rywire, hybrid racing, and etc. Check K20a.org.

I got my rywire one for 300US shipped to my door..

well ive got some parts being shipped to Australia now and its risen couple more questions:

Can i use my dc2 drive shafts or will i hafe to modify them, ive been through some websites and hondatech and you can get replacement drive shafts, and another guy that did a k20 conversion changed the hubs.

any recommendations?

depends what brakes you want - you can use you inner driveshafts then just swap the outer 32mm knuckle connection to 36mm to suit

if you want to keep 4 stud, then you need to get dc5 base model shaft or swap the outers to the 32mm... Or if your going 5 stud, you can use the 36mm shafts by using the CRV knuckles which is stronger for drag racing..

so no difference than getting these?

changing radiator support does not change anything, no clearance issues.
32 and 36mm hubs- as the guys have said it depends on your brake set up

planning to run 4 stud pattern (unless 5 stud is a major difference), got brembo xdrlled n slotted rotors thinking to change to itr calipers or aftermarket calipers... n e sugestions? want to get this road registered aswell so what kind of brake set up would i need?
