oil leak..

ok i saw some leaking oil on my driveway so i jacked up my car.. located it coming from my gearbox, or it might by the flywheel cover im not sure.. but it seems the thin metal sheeting has been peeled back? and the oils been lsot through there.. i can actually see my flywheel? i dont know how that happened cos to my recollection i havent hit anything? anybody know whats happened.. how bad it is? what can be done to fix it etc etc?

you need to replace flywheel cover. your fluid is probably gone. try not to drive it.. damage your gearbox if u do

flywheel cover doesnt hold any oil in.its just a cover.
you do need a new flywheel cover though.
my guess is your rear main seal on the back of the block where the crankshaft comes out is leaking

rear main seal is gone.

there is a flywheel cover there. Looks bent in picture.
