i did this to my teg a while ago so cant remember 100%. hopefully you had the same wheel as me (three spoke with integra written in the circle where the horn is)

From memory...
the actual steering wheel has 3 screws behind the thick part of the steering wheel (where it connects to the steering coloum) if you know what i mean...

pull apart the plastic covers on the steering colom to make it easier to access and find the screws. My screws were really stubborn and hard to get out so i used a hammer to bang my screw driver head into the screw before i started turning.

After the screws come out... just pull off the front part of the horn and the rest should be easy...

dont u just take the horn off the non airbag stock steering well then use the 19mm socket to open her up.

put the JDM itr steering wheel on and tighten it up and then put the cover over the wheel and horn on and allen key it all up.

Hey guys,

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread but I have a related question:

Is it possible to put a DC2R Steering wheel (with air bag) on a pre facelift DC2 (1996) that has air bag on the stock wheel?

I remember reading somewhere it is possible but you have to do some modding with the wires? Any more information would be really appreciated!

i paid mine for $400 off a mate with the clockspring(srs harness)....but u'll be looking around $400-500 for a decent one i guess.....yeah i installed it myself

yeh seems to be around $500 for a decent one.

I'm surprised to hear it just plugs in, i dont know where but I remember hearing that the wires had to be modded on the older tegs.

Good to hear! thanks for the post.

I'm surprised too...I remember asking this in another post a long time ago and it was mentioned that OBD1 94-97 required wire modification.. ODB2 98-01 is PnP.. I would have got myself one if it was well and truly PnP..
