Firstly
someone may want to change the date on when the store is re opening so that they know. Its currently says the 10th of june 2008.
I want to order some OH stickers damn it :)
Secondly
Is there any way to allow members to change their email address to a Gmail address?
When i started this account i was using an internode email address and all the notifications etc went to there.
Since then i have changed and now use my gmail as my primary account. due to the fact i can have it hooked up to phone, work or anywhere.
Is there some way that we can allow members to change emails once initial setup of the account has been completed and they have gone from newcomer to member status?
I know we can pay the $30 and get the "official" ozhonda email address but thats kinda defeating the purpose. and also see part one of this thread on reasons why that wont work atm.
Thanks

I tried changing my email address to my primary email aka my Gmail address, and this was the error that I got...
You have used an invalid email address. Registering using free web based email providers such as Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail etc are not allowed. Please try again with an email address from your Internet Service Provider or if you believe there is an error, to contact the administrator click here

yes we dont allow gmail or other free addresses. This is to avoid spammers signing up etc.
Try the email provided by your ISP.

The point being that I don't have a provider email address anymore as im on a share house DSL setup.
And i think that you miss the point ben.
This is to avoid spammers signing up etc.
But we are already signed up and have done the qualifier to go from newcomer to member.
This is why i asked the original question.
I understand the stopping bots etc signing up part but this just seems like a limitation.

Each DSL account usually allows up to 5 email addresses. So you can set one up through your ISP's account tools on their website.

This would be true if the person that has set up the dsl for the house. And then what happens when i move and all i can use is internet cafes? until i can get dsl back on at new location?
Do you now see that saying just use your email addresses that you have allocated to the house account doesnt always work.
There is also the fact that the guy that the DSL's name is under has 3 of the 5 addresses allocated to himself and there are 4 other people that use the DSL in this house. how does that work then?
It just seems strange that all anyone can give as a reason why we are not able to lodge our gmail addresses once we are members is use your service providers address.
Sometimes this is just not possible.

Summary is No. You cannot use a Gmail address on Ozhonda.

As above.
But it's basically to detter people from signing up for the sake of creating trouble. ISP email accounts can be traced easier too.

The email address filtering is a global option so unfortunately that cannot be done.
My suggestion is to try and hang tight till you get an ISP and hence a non-web based / free email address.
EDIT: You said the guy who has ther DSL has 3 / 5 email addresses assigned to him. What about using one of the other 2?

Thanks for the clarification dude.
Im going to have to look at some other ways around this problem.
As for the 2 spare addys. The guy is an asshole and wont allow it because he "may need to use them"
