hey folks, helping mate install a stereo in his dc2.

his one came without one, was broken into and stereo stolen with previous owner.

came with the tray pocket that usually sits underneath the radio unit although it looks like their were two mounting points at the bottom which had been snapped off.

looking at a couple of websites, im pretty sure those two points were the only thing securing the traypocket to the dash section, where the stock headunit is in turn attached to the tray pocket?

anyway looking at installing a basic aftermarket headunit, but cant see any other way of securing either the tray pocket or the headunit!

anyone have any ideas how to get around this, as there doesnt look like theres any way in securing the sides for example which is most common...

thanks in advance!

i had the same problem wit my car what i did was the bracket that comes with the deck usally has holes in it n can be bent out so it cant slide out of the sentre part, but to keep it sucure i just got a thin bit of metal n screwed it onto the frame near were the sterio goes and then onto the bracket of the head unit , it works fine no one is stealing that baby (i hope) hope that gives u a lil help .....

thanks for the replies guys.

Jimidy, yeah might do that, getting an extras bit of metal and screw it to the frame at the back. not much room to work with though, looks like a pain of a job! will see how it goes this weekend! thanks
