Hi guys, been doing some reading in regards to import laws.
I know its impossible to privately import the vehicle.. obviously since I wont be owning the car in Japan for 12 months+
And i'm well aware that a grey import is not possible either since it doesn't fall under Australian design rules.

What my question is.. hypothetically.. if i were to purchase and import the vehicle.. and not register the car for street use.. is it possible to bring it in for race/track/rally use only? I dont intend to drive it or register it, just want it as a track use only project car.

Please feel free to add any comments/suggestions or anything I may be overlooking. I've worked out the costs of shipping it over here. The car is around 900,000 yen (~$9k AUD) + Freight, duty, GST, customs clearance etc.

you have to be a member of a club or race track and get a cams license you will need a level 2 speed link to form (http://www.cams.com.au/Content.asp?PageID=PaperForms)

then if you wont to do it your self find the car you wont buy it call customs with all the details and and give them your cams license number they will give you an import approval. put it on a boat and ship it over and thats it you have to tow it to the track if you wont to use it

if you wish to get it imported by a company then there are many out there that can help if your interested in some names give me a pm with your email and ill forward you more info

hope iv been helpful
