Hi Guys,

Had my DC5S for a couple of months now..... since I bought it there has been a little noise in the engine/gearbox ?? at low RPM 1000-3000.
The noise disappears after 3000rpm, it does it cold and hot. I asked my
mechanic to check it out when I got it serviced just after I bought it and he said he could hear it but didn't think it was worth worrying about.....

Anyone else had a similar thing or any advice ????

To help things could you describe the noise?

It's really difficult to describe......but.........it sounds like something spinning in the gearbox/clutch maybe (wurring type of noise). The sound is not there at idle, only when the engine is under load.

Does it go away when the clutch is depressed?

If so, its the throwout bearing in the clutch.

If it is a rotational bearing noise at low speed load at axle speed then it is quite normal for a dc5r or dc5s to make this noise. Normal harmonics dont ask me why just giving my own experiences.

check your transmission oil, it might be low.
Similar thing happen on my dc4.
