DIY: Aftermarket Pedals for Honda Accord Euro

Disclaimer: The following is provided as a GUIDE ONLY, and neither myself nor Ozhonda take any responsibility for the outcomes of someone else doing the following. You do this entirely at your own risk.

Hey, I’m a girl and for all those people that think girls are useless think again if you have looked at this DIY and made use of it…also this is my first DIY so be kind to me

Aim: To change the stock OEM rubber pedals to the Metal look ones. Mine is a Auto but the manual is just the same.
Vehicle: Honda Accord Euro 03-07

Parts: Strut King TSX Pedals which is the same as the Honda Accord Euro, either in M/T or A/T. You can purchase these thru strut king, making sure that you get the Acura TSX pedals. Please see NOTE below. Pictures are of the RSX foot rest ONLY.

Tools Required:
-7mm Socket wrench.
-Phillips head screw driver or
-Power drill with Phillips head attachment.

Note: I had swapped the Foot rest from the one they supplied to the RSX one which in my opinion is a better fit.

Cost: I got it on a promo for $91.99 US shipped, but usually I guess it be around $130.

TIME: It only took me around 30 minutes or so… Wasn’t that long.

Step 1: PREPARATION
Remove the all of the contents from packaging and sort them out to which pedal goes where and place all the screws to the right pedal set. These should be as follows, 6 x self tapping screws for the Foot rest pedal, 6 x self tapping screws for the accelerator pedal and also 4 x bolts with matching locking nuts. This doesn’t need to be done in any specific order but I choose to go from left to right starting from the foot rest then making my way to the brake pedal the last to the accelerator. Though if you had the M/T then you obviously would have to do the Clutch which is the same way as the brake pedal. Keep in mind that you may have to make holes if there isn’t any. I think that from the strut king website there are instructions for the specific manual version which from memory states that you may need to so some drilling. Though for the A/T there was no need for drilling.

Step 2: FOOT REST

Start with the Foot Rest Pedal. Place the Foot rest pedal over the top of the existing pedal and using a Power drill, or Phillips head screw driver, line up the screws and screw in the 6 self tapping screws into the allocated holes. Its probably best if you start with the top ones from the left. The top left is partically the hardest one to do due to the small space that you have on the left side. Make sure you tighten the screws firmly so that it would hold down the pedal properly. After you have screw all the screws in, try to wobble the pedal to see if it is firmly in place.

Step 3: BRAKE PEDAL

After the rubber has been removed

Remove the original rubber pedal cover by pulling it back. Then when that is off you will see 4 holes where the 4 bolts will be screwed in. Place the New Brake pedal over the housing making sure that the holes line up together. Using the bolts with locking nuts, screw together the bolts by using a Phillips head screw driver on the top and a 7mm socket wrench on the locking nut, screw it together until it is firmly holding the pedal together. Again check to see if it is in place by trying to wobble the pedal.

What the brake pedal will look like when finished.

Step 4: ACCELERATOR PEDAL

Accelerator housing and 6 screws.

After installing accelerator

Using the same method with the Foot rest pedal, Place the accelerate pedal over the existing pedal and using either the Phillips head screw driver or a power drill, screw in the 6 self tapping screws into the allocated holes. This one may be a bit tricky due to the fact that it is not stable. A good way is to hold one hand on the back of the accelerator pedal and with the other hand hold the screw firmly and tighten. Another thing is possibly using a power drill to make the holes first. That way it would be easier to screw in. I was lazy and used the Phillips head so it was a bit harder.

CONCLUSION: A cheaper alternative to the original Sports pedals, which is $200+, also adds to the BLING look.
