Im after a aluminium EG radiator at the moment and have had a look on E-bay, theres one for $100 which is really good. In the picture the quality looks alright but has anyone bought one and seen how good they actualy are?
Im really thinking about buying it in the next few days so any help would be great.

Also does any one know, or can find out, how tall an EG radiator is from the bottom of the bottom tank to the top of the filler cap, not including the mounting lugs?

Cheers
Luke

I've got one on my D. Is it the ASI one? If it is, then your car will love you for it. Works just as well as the expensive brands, also up and over the stock ones.

Hoses won't fit very easily though so you will have to get silicon replacements for it. Well...They will fit but just not easy to get on, plus silicon won't bulge or leak in the long run so it's a better idea to run those anyway.

Grab one, I did and it's great stuff. Don't let the location of the item fool you ;)

dont settle for the $100 one. look around on ebay US, i grabbed an aluminium EG radiator for $37 on there a while ago. worked pretty darn well.

do you know if the ASI one is duel core or single core?

I've got an ASI one here if interested?

Purchased it late one night only to have it arrive and I realised its only for Manuals.

It would appear that it is a dual core system, a few fins have been bent in transport to/from my mates house but otherwise it is as good as a newie.

The ASI's are dual cored radiators. They're thick as the Koyo's if not the same. 100bux is well worth it. You'd be hard pressed finding a similar one for that price in Aus.

Wouldn't say the same, I've seen both and the build quality between the two are different. Though, the most important part on these ASI ones are the welds. Very good welds for cheap Chinese stuff. Bang for buck.

Little bit of rubber grease would help to get the hoses on

can you use your own rad cap on any of these or do you have to use the one that came chained to it?

I had to use the one chained. My Trust one didn't fit :(

Rubber grease didn't help much, I had to cut some off because the ends had shrunk when I took them off lol Lesson here is do it asap. :)
