So i recently put 17's on my car and im getting a lot more noise while driving, anyone know the reason to this(maybe the low profile tyres)?
+ my car is lowered so the suspension is really stiff.
Also, just general driving before i got my 17's was loud compared to other cars.
i heard that newer cars have been fitted with dynamat and stuff like that.
but is there a way to decrease the amount of noise inside the cabin without having to spend a fortune on dynamat or spending heaps in general lol?
e.g getting everything tightened again.(screws, bolts what not)
annndddd lol.
just thought id add, my exhaust isnt loud at all :)
lol.
thank you in advance.

What brand of tyres are you using?
I've installed dynamat on my doors and trunk and it cut down a lot of road noise. I bought the bulk pack and was enough to do both doors and trunk. I did everything myself so saved some money there. You could probably try some other brands other than dynamat such Stinger's roadkill but I can't comment on that as I've not used them before.
Tightening the screws and bolts would just reduce the rattles and not road noise.

What make/model are previous and current tyres?
Just going from model of tyre to another, even within the same brand may have a vast difference in road noise.

get a wheel balancing. cost like 6 bux per tyre...
or better get brand new tyres - kumho ku25 is cheap and quiet

wheel alignment if you havent done so, otherwise play around with your tyre pressure, too high of a pressure will increase the road noise/cabin. low pressure will reduce efficiency to mileage.
otherwise it's those tyres your running on, should research on a better set of rubber.

whats a sussy :S lol sorry.
yeah tyres it is.
would it be advisable to get thicker tyres? for a more comfortable/quieter ride?
or does it come down to the tread itself.?
Woould be also interesed in getting roadkill, as its cheaper than dynamat.
worth it?

The quietest performance tyres I've heard are Bridgestone RE001, heaps of grip and silent.

I'm using Bridgestone G3. You'd be suprised that they don't actually cost that much more than yum cha tyres. IMHO, tyres are worth the extra investment not only for safety, but durability and comfort as well. The G3's are replaced by Adrenalins now and I heard they're even better.
