isnt it just the gas struts and the 10mm bolts?

somebody can confirm it but im pretty sure thats it.

Was wondering this too. But surely the rear boot is attached to a big hinge of some sort. Never really looked myself. The gas struts ofcourse need to be removed.

Just undo the bolts... and see what happens. If there is nothing else connecting the boot to the chassis... then SUCCESS! I can imagine the boot to be heavy, so be careful man. Perhaps have some one help you out.

changing boots is always a 2 person job,,

doing it by yourself is extremely painful

undo the gas struts, and then undo the bolts on the top

a ring-spanner-ratchet is always good to use too, no way you're going to be able to fit a normal ratchet between the gap :)
i know i couldn't when i changed ek hatch boot lids
don't forget you have to take out the boot trim to unplug the rear de mister harness too, best to pull it out first before taking off the boot lid
