View Full Version : ek brake upgrade options?

hi guys,

im getting my car engineered and i need atleast vtir front brakes on my civic cxi 97 ...
im wondering what cars can i get the brakes off, can u se dc's or any other honda you can think off? or does it all have to be ek front brakes?

get the knuckles + discs + calipers off a EK4 or 99+ EK1 or EG6 or DC2 or DC4.

thats it really.

so far i understand the calipers/discs/knucles is what i need at the bare minimum ...

are those listed car models above are straight fits into my ek1?

Get a set of dc2 or ek4 complete front hubs

yes.unless you start going custom,which costs more and is less reliable than oem,so its not worth it

okay so i cant upgrade my front brakes without changing the following:

calipers/discs/knucles/hubs/pads

well yes.....

you can just get better pads and rotors for your current setup,and this will give good gains.

but ultimately,if you want to upgrade beyond that,and if the engineer is switched on and really wants you to have vtir brakes,then yes you need to change all that....and dont skimp on the pads,they are the main variable in how well your brakes will slow the car down
