Please help me pick some 13cm speakers!

Im an audio retard and would really appreciate some help. My car is currently speakerless because my 5yr old pioneer splits have finally given up.

I have a 7yr old (not kidding) HU and these splits, thats it. the car is gutted with no interior etc. Sound quality isn't huge on my list but can someone recommend some nice 13cm speakers that arent too expensive (less than $150) that i can chuck in and be happy with? I would like some music to listen too on long drives.

I have had a look around and always bought Pioneer for some reason. Not too fussed about what brand as long as they offer a good bang for buck ratio. Theres so many different types out there LOL

trav, just hit strathfield car and radio.

Normally these go for about 70 bucks for splits at strathfield.

im sure any 12cm/6.5/6 inch splits will fit. you might have to drill new holes into your spacers to fit them but thats no biggie. anyway, chances are you're gonna have to do that anyway no matter whatever splits you get. no need to limit yourself to EXACTLY 13cm speakers, or do you??

then buy pioneer.

sub $150 for 5 inch, the cheap chinese made world is your oyster for speakers, jump into stores and listen, then again for that price why bother wasting time, just buy anything in your budget from the closest spare parts store, they will all sound about the same, cheap :)

wow i had a massive brain freeze on my last reply. 13cm isnt 6/6.5 inchers!

at this pricepoint any 5" ones would do. ichacha summed it up nicely

sorry bout my brain freeze. but yer, my thing about drilling new holes will probably still apply to your new speakers
